Garland Power & Light is not just your local power company; it is an active part of the Garland community!

For the sixth consecutive year, GP&L is the title sponsor for the Garland Chamber of Commerce Annual Golf Tournament. This tournament helps fund the Garland Economic Development Partnership between the City, the Chamber and the Garland Independent School District.

GP&L also sponsors the City's Sweetheart Dance, the Garland Civic Theatre and the Garland Summer Musicals.

In March 2003, GP&L initiated the "Teacher of the Month" program, showing its support for Garland educators.

GP&L also sponsors city-wide events such as the Star Spangled Fourth and the Christmas on the Square & Parade of Lights.
