ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS 2) Direct project designs and review completed design packets prior to being released for construction. 3) Assign design tasks and oversee management of projects from inception to completion. 4) Review time entry and manage work schedules for efficient use of labor resources. 5) Participate in meetings with other City of Garland departments to communicate installation standards and guidelines to external customers, architects, developers, and contractors. 6) Review site plans for new developments and modifications to existing facilities and address potential conflicts with existing or proposed GP&L assets. 7) Review a project firsthand and mitigate potential obstacles that may delay or disrupt the timely completion of a project. 8) Investigate, compile, and review information from vendors and manufacturers to evaluate new products and material to improve GP&L construction standards. 9) Review written documents for completion and evaluate bids to ensure qualifications of selected contractor.
