POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for managing plans, engineering, designs, construction and
maintenance of GP&L’s transmission and substation facilities. Responsible
for managing resources including partnering with internal departments, ERCOT
and TMPA to establish reliable, safe, and cost-effective electric substation
and transmission line infrastructures.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Plan and direct development of
substation/transmission system infrastructure including upgrades and new
construction.

Approve designs and specifications and
oversee installation, maintenance and training on substation equipment.

Review design and equipment specifications,
prepare Request for Proposals, evaluate bids and recommend award of
contract. Present to City Council as required.

Prepare, monitor and manage division
operating and capital budgets.

Manage project schedules, budgets and
resources for substation and transmission studies, maintenance and
facility/equipment. Oversee activities of contractors, vendors and
consultants to ensure adherence to project schedules and budgets.

Oversee compliance of designs, construction,
and maintenance with regulatory and environmental requirements.

Research, analyze and recommend system
modifications or alternative designs including testing and evaluating.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Coordinate divisional activities with other

substation area and work with others when sharing resources.

Oversee and ensure the proper installation,
maintenance and removal of substation equipment and apparatus.

Provide oversight and employee training for
maintenance of all substation equipment; including weed control, fences,

budget.

Responsible for supporting the Electric Systems Operations network and
server infrastructure and working to maintain network compliance
requirements per federal and state regulatory agencies. Also responsible
for technical assistance to plan and install network and server equipment,
software, and cabling systems to satisfy bandwidth needs.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
