Garland, Texas - Although spring is officially a few days away Garland Power & Light experienced its first "spring storm" of 2000 on February 22, when showers moved into the area at approximately 9:00 PM.

The storm resulted in only minor disturbances to the GP&L system with the only power outage reported at 9:42 PM. Customers in an area bounded by Beltline Road, Apollo Road, Jupiter Road and Galaxy Road were without power for approximately one hour, with all electric service restored to normal by 11:15 PM.
